Wenatchee First United Methodist Church provides a safe environment where youth can build community, explore their knowledge and love of God, and serve others. Through our program we believe youth will grow and root their lives in faith.

Become part of a group that is motivated to be the change. We want to build a youth group together that is filled with constant opportunities to experience a relationship with God and feel the power of service. We do this through Biblical teachings, trips, and discipleship groups where issues of accountability, character, and care
are stressed.

Our vision is to both challenge and encourage youth to participate in a relationship with God through healthy fun, inspiring learning and social growth.
We accomplish this through shared experiences in fellowship and service in our youth groups, confirmation class, and service to others. We also work collaboratively with the worship, music, and education teams to provide opportunities for youth involvement.

Here are just a few of our favorite events we've done over the years…

Fall Kick-Off Hike: Family, friends, and congregation members join our youth for a beautiful afternoon hike outside of Quincy at Ancient Lakes.  After the hike we have pizza at the church!

Youth Sunday:  Each year our youth take over our church services for a day and add their own creative flare!  One year the youth were passionate about helping our congregation become “green”.  They created a worship service all about becoming better stewards to our environment in observance of
Earth Day.

Mission Projects:  Throughout the year our youth participate in a variety of mission projects.  These projects include: mucking stalls at the Trusting Spirit Horse Rescue, deep-cleaning the nursery, doing yard work at the Mustard Seed Daycare Center, setting up teepee camp at Lazy F, preparing dinner for our congregation, etc.

Mystery Trip: During Winter Break our youth pack up their bags and hop on the church bus.  The location of the trip is always a secret but it’s definitely worth the gamble!
One year we found our stop in Leavenworth, WA where we sledded and toured the downtown then headed to our host United Methodist Church for a night filled with games, prizes and team-building.

Symphony: Occasionally our youth are invited to sit in the very front row at the Wenatchee Symphony’s winter concert!  Everyone comes dressed to the 9’s as we join together for a delicious meal then head to Wenatchee High School for an evening filled with beautiful music.

CONFIRMATION: “Confirm” means to “make firm.” A Confirmation class is meant to be a strengthening of faith, as we learn about the historic and living faith of the Church of Jesus Christ.
Confirmation class is open to young people who are in or beyond 7th grade and is a rite of passage for young people toward adulthood.
Confirmation is a time when our youth explore their faith in a safe community.  Through a series of faith exploration retreats, conversations with mentors, mission projects, and a confirmation celebration, youth will discover and experience their faith in a new way.
At the end of our program, each youth is given the option to become a member of the United Methodist Church.

An excited and a bit wired youth group experience with a multitude of opportunities to bring friends, build relationships, and grow in your relationship with God.  Join leaders and friends for fun-filled events that give you the opportunity to explore your faith through mission projects, scripture lessons, fellowship, and discussions on Christian ethics.  We also invite you to join us at 6:00pm in Joe Wood Hall for dinner after youth group!
