Rev. Joanne Coleman Campbell

As a child, my family lived and traveled in many parts of the world. My father was a veterinarian (WSU Alumni), and worked for US Agency for International Development and UNFAO. We lived in Nigeria, Brazil, and Ethiopia. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology of Natural Resources from the University of California, Berkeley. My Master of Divinity degree from Vancouver School of Theology came much later.
I am married to John (whom I met at Twinlow UM Camp in Idaho). We have five adult children: Tyron (a political organizer in Seattle); Dashal
‚Äč(an acupuncturist in the Bay Area, California); Adrianne (a social worker in Winthrop) and her partner Corin and our two grandchildren, Maggie and Oscar; Micah (attending Drew Seminary in New Jersey); and Sara (attending WWU in Seattle).

I have served Epworth LeSourd UMC (Tacoma); Liberty Park UMC (Spokane); Cheney UMC; and Olympia: First UMC before being appointed as co-pastor with John here at Wenatchee First UMC. At the Pacific Northwest UM Conference level, I am a member of the Board of Ordained Ministry. At the local community level, I serve on the Board of Commissioners for the Chelan County Wenatchee Housing Authority. When not working I am an avid reader, enjoy handwork – especially crocheting, love to be with my family, and travel when I am able.
Above all else, I am grateful to God, and I pray that my life may be a small witness to the incredible drenching of God-grace-and-love (otherwise known by that old-fashioned word “mercy”) I have experienced over the years!
